Stupid
I used to know this guy. When he found out I was helping my friends book gigs in St Pete he said it was stupid. And for some inexplicable reason his opinion made a world of difference to me. So I believed him. I truly believed that helping friends make music just for the fun of it was stupid. I believed that I was doing stupid things for fun. What's even worse, he thought what my friends did was stupid. He almost made me believe that my friends' dreams, the passion of their lives, their talent and dedication were stupid. Ironically, the said friend ended up going to those gigs with all-access photo passes that he got only because of me.
But you know what that friend did for fun? I'll give you a picture. Four AM. Me scooping his puke out of the burners in my stove. Scrubbing his puke off the surface of that stove, off the floors in the kitchen and around the toilet. One would imagine if one got that drunk one would at least have the decency of not confusing the stove with the toilet, and, when dragged away from the stove to the toilet, puking in the toilet instead of all around it.
So the moral of the story is, don't listen when people tell you what you enjoy is stupid. Just ignore them and enjoy yourself, because you deserve to have a good time without looking over your shoulder to check with others' opinion.

I guess I shouldn't be weirded out. But I am. I mean, I remember when he wrote this song. I was not a good person then, and I totally deserved that line. But seeing someone else do a cover of it? Totally freaks me out.
